Load , Performance, Stress Testings - Why

Why Performance Test:

o   Does the application respond quickly enough for the intended users?(large # of users)
o   Will the application handle the expected user load and beyond?
o   Will the application handle the number of transactions required by the business?
o   Is the application stable under expected and unexpected user hits on the applications?
o   Is the application stable under expected and unexpected user loads?
o   Are you sure that users will have a positive experience on go-live day?

o   Does Google / Yahoo support 1 lac users at a single point of time
o   Does Google / Yahoo support  10 transactions per a second
o   Does Google / Yahoo support returning 100 bits per second
o   Does Google / Yahoo support  100 hits per second
